Der vierte Block-Vorschlag des Sew Mama Sew Quilt Monats war wieder ein "Liebe auf den ersten Blick" Block, den Wirligiggle-Quilt hatte ich schon vor längerem mal entdeckt und war gleich total angetan. Ich wollte aber diesmal nicht schon wieder Bunt mit Weiss kombinieren und habe mich dann nach langem Überlegen für Rot-Weiss-Blau entschieden und nur alte Stoffe verwendet. Einige sind Bettwäschestoffe, andere wohl Schürzenstoffe oder Bekleidungsstoffe. Der gestreifte, den ich in (fast) jedem Block verwendet habe war ein Hemd meines Vaters. Das Top ist bisher etwa 30cm im Quadrat groß, es besteht aus 9 Blöcken. Es soll noch umrandet werden, ich konnte mich aber bisher nicht für einen Stoff entscheiden, eigentlich hätte ich gerne einen alten braungemusterten, aber sowas habe ich nicht. Vielleicht guck ich nochmal bei meiner Mutter. Das wird dann der zweite Puppenquilt für meine Sammlung, mein Traum ist eine ganze Wand voll!
The Week 4 Block-along was another "love at first sight" for me. I saw this wirligiggle-quilt actually some time ago and was very attracted.
This time I didn't want to choose cloured fabrics and white again and decided to try red-white-blue and took only vintage fabrics. Some of them are from bedclothes, some are made for aprons and there are clothesfabrics as well. The blue-white stripe background was a shirt from my father. The top is now 12'', it has nine blocks from 4''. I want to make a border but couldn't settle for a fabric, I would like to have it in brown with pattern, but I do not own such a print. Maybe I should look in my mothers stash.
This will be the second doll quilt for my collection, I dream of a wall full of them!
